Smart Station Saves Space/Desktop Clutter And Provides A Platform For HIPPA Security Compliance

ATLANTA, GA --(INTERNET WIRE)--Jan 25, 2002 -- ADVAN Int'l Corp, a leading supplier of Flat Panel, TFT/LCD display technology for medical systems, today announced that they have a Combination PC/Security System/Flat-panel monitor for Medical Grade, Hospital applications.

Named the Medical Smart Station, Advan is offering both 15-inch and 18-inch Flat Panel monitors with optional touch-screen capabilities. This lightweight unit is designed to eliminate desktop clutter and optimize space in hospitals, physicians' offices and medical imaging centers. The Medical Smart Station eliminates the use of a mouse and keyboard but provides full OS implementation with Windows NT/2000 /CE based systems using an a Transmeta Crusoe Processor inside the Flat Panel Monitor. Optionally a RF Communications and Smart Card security/ID capability solution is available for user identity/security issues, so vitally important today for meeting HIPPA Security compliance.

The ADVAN Medical Smart Station features advanced leading edge surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) touch-screen technology, which provides the brightest clarity of operation in touch-screen, and operates effectively with either a stylus or a finger with gloved hands. It is ideal for use in central information centers, for vital sign monitoring, and for other medical instrumentation systems. List price for the ADVAN Medical Smart Station with 128MB SDRAM Memory is $1995. OEM private labeling/OEM versions are available.
