$8/month will pay for 3-4 years of an AppleTV - just not adding up for me. No big motivation there. Now, if I can eliminate the cable company, and have access to more video podcasts (current technology, just more content), that could be attractive.

This is a criticism of EyeTV. It in no way rebuts the speculation regarding AAPLs plans for it now does it? From what I've read, users of the current version on EyeTV have been clamoring for a TiVO type option.
