hi re,
Indeed. Amazing that he's got this far without anyone seeming to notice. But clearly now he has some important allies who see the opportunity for what it really is. And with the hard disk product, the first competitors who can suddenly see what is happening to their future.

Deploy in volume on the cheap until you achieve a market-player sized lump of units. Then add value to the installed product until it becomes obvious to enterprises that it is worth switching the system on. Then seed the consumer market with basic software and hardware while enterprises have the chance to build applications both for their own internal use and that reach towards the consumer marketplace (eg trusted transaction systems). And finally, connect the two.

It's an excellent, sequential distribution strategy, which works because it is sequential. I can see how some people think this whole thing is about securing devices and networks. Because that's an initial stage in the process and it' easy to see. But ultimately, TC's about connecting all devices to one another and protecting the data and systems that they store and use and the flow of information between them. Which is the trust matrix.

It's a wildly enormous strategy to which many companies are contributing. But Wave, currently, has an important role in the discussion.
