CES 2008
Technology companies are banking on you wanting to watch tv on the go. In your car, on your cell phone, wherever. Motorola, LG and many others are showcasing handheld video players that you can either use to watch content you record using your DVR or content from digital broadcast waves.
It's all about where you are, because just about everything here has GPS technology in it. Media players, cell phones, cars etc. But it's not enough to just know where you are, these systems are all expanding to include extra services that do everything from show you where the closest restaurants are to directing you to the gas station with the lowest prices.
Finally, Toshiba has reason to worry, because it seems like everyone is backing Sony's Blu-Ray technology in the DVD format wars. From what I see, Blu-Ray-equipped players outnumber HD DVD models two or three to one.
