Overview
“Clean with a Clear Conscience”. This statement summarizes the emergence of a remarkably effective cleaning product for the home, workplace, boat, cottage and more.
Although cleaning power is one reason why people are coming to trust Winning Colours® Multi-Cleaner, there is more to it. Unlike most cleaners on the market, Winning Colours® is an environmentally sensitive product. Common household and industrial cleaners contain contaminants that not only pollute but also damage the water supply.
The major problem with most other common cleaners is their relatively slow biodegradability leads to an accumulation of toxins in the water supply. These are then available to be ingested by humans, animals and fish. The higher the concentration of toxins, the more dangerous they are to our health. This is also especially important in environmentally sensitive areas where wildlife can be easily affected. Winning Colours® Multi-Cleaner can help by not contributing to these dangerous accumulations. Winning Colours® is rapidly biodegradable and is fully broken down in only five (5) days under normal circumstances. It is also made wherever possible from organically derived raw materials, which are not only quickly biodegradable but are hypoallergenic. These raw materials are combined to make a cleaner agent which is powerful enough to remove blood, grime, oil, and dirt, yet it is gentle to nature.
One of the benefits of using Winning Colours® is that it is largely hypoallergenic Bear in mind that no product can be “totally” hypoallergenic because some people can have allergic reactions to natural ingredients. However, generally speaking, those people who have experienced an allergic reaction to ingredients found in most common cleaners will typically find Winning Colours® preferable to use. In the many years spent developing Winning Colours®, animals were not used for product testing. All suppliers of raw materials used in the manufacture of Winning Colours® were required to disclose the extent and methods of animal testing they employ. This has allowed us to minimize or eliminate the use of materials whose development required testing which is considered inhumane.
Ingredients NOT used:The following are commonly used ingredients that are found in most cleaning products.
These are ingredients that Winning Colours® has chosen not to use.
* ENZYMES:
This is a common ingredient in most other cleaners. Enzymes break down protein stains but do not distinguish between the protein in the stains and the protein in the human skin. Residues left in the fibres are known to irritate skin and may cause asthmatic reactions in some people.
* FLOURESCENT Whiting Agents:
These are used in many laundry detergents and fabric softeners and are chemical compounds designed to embed themselves in the fibres of clothing. As these accumulate of time, they will start to irritate the skin.
* EDTA and NTA:
Found in a range of household cleaning products, these combine with heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and mercury. These metals are then carried back into the water supply. Even low concentrations of heavy metals are known to be poisonous to humans. EDTA and NTA are very difficult to remove from drinking water and are very slow to biodegrade in Canada’s cold water.
* PHOSPHATES:
These are chemical additives which were recognized as an environmental hazard in the 1970’s, but are still commonly found in powdered detergents and cleaners. Phosphates cause environmental problems by acting as a fertilizer for algae which are found in all natural water supplies. Too many phosphates cause the algae to grow excessively and use up the oxygen needed for fish and other desirable water plants to survive. This also decreases the activity of micro-organisms which are needed to break down other components of detergents. The result is that entire lakes can be destroyed.
Other polluting ingredients not used in Winning Colours® are:
* Dry cleaning fluids
* Artificial dyes
* Bleaches
* Corrosive agents
* Artificial fragrances
* Non-biodegradable ingredients
