As I understand "shorting" the MM have to borrow the shares from some other MM to be able to "short" the stock. Either at the end of the month there is a settlement or they roll the "shorts" over to the next month. The only way to not have your shares "shorted" or borrowed is to have them active (pendiing sale order). Therefore I allways have my "pinky" shares for sale (pending sale order) above the Ask price. Curently I am willing to sell my shares at $.46 per share. I will continue to move my sell price up as the ask price moves up.
