IOwn - frankly I don't dislike Martha - I don't know her, and I'm less likely to form an opinion about someone I don't know through hearsay or the news than most (IMO). All I can tell you is there appears to be alot of people who feel they are above the law (I dare say it applies to dear old NVI too), and in this case - I agree, Martha proved she's human and able to let her ego and ignorance get in her way. She may have been successful at one time, but it's pretty clear that mis-steps and lying on purpose in a legal setting is a pretty quick way to trash your rags to riches success story. She may have gone from rags to riches, which I suppose is a nice thing (I tend to think it's better to be poor, but have ethics and morals), but there is a saying - easy come, easy go. She chose to trash her career and life by choosing to lie. No ifs ands or butts.
Relativism might suggest that what she did was not all that bad when compared to some other slimeballs - but ya know what, she was dumb enough to do what she did in broad daylight, under the spotlight, and for that she is going to pay dearly. I feel for her, but don't think the outcome should be any different than it most likely is going to be - and it has nothing to do with her rags to riches story, about being jealous, or hating Martha. I don't know the lady. It's simply that she lied and got caught lying poorly - EOS.
