Of course they will not extract Fe-metals from 40 Billion tons befor they start producing non fe-metals from the remaining tailings.
They will use a production line which is able to seperate iron, AU and other metals in one pass. Everything else would be to expensive and makes no sense.

I'm working in the german recycling technology. 5 years ago we developed a complete new production facility which is able to separate "general household rubbish" in 6 different parts. It took us 12 Million Euro and 4 years to develop the facility but it is now in production for 3 years. Meanwhile several other facilities were built depending on our development.

I think it will be possible to develop a working facility and to produce profitable for AURC.
