Yes, happyness is spelled that way in the title....of course u gotta see the movie to learn why.
It's based on a true story & if everyone whose down 'n out (& he had a young son at the time) did what Chris Gardner (Smith's character) did, then I guess we'd be in trouble w/re to currency valuation...or at least the govt would have to adjust their econ platform to continue keeping us down.
Don't get me wrong...for the most part I do agree w/ya...especially on the relative part....& I guess the sad part of it all....the govt banks on the fact that the down & out will indeed remain that way & even prepetuate itself helping to make it the vicious cycle that it is for the most part.
But as far as the movie went.....in reality, it was a Hollywood ending for Gardner....love those true feel good flicks....I highly rec'd it if you've yet to see it...it's been out as a rental for awhile now.
In closing out this one.....if the dems get in office next yr maybe things for the less fortunate will see a lil improvement over time....but the pessimist in me aint all that hopeful either.....maybe if the greens got in office we'd some REAL improvement & fast.....fat chance I know....& even tho I tend to vote along their party lines, I am a lil fearful of a green getting into the Oval office....a lil too far to the left for me at this point....but..at least it's to the left of where we are now...lol
& JRB...sure am happy I wasn't bag holdin any gold overnight....hehe
& CaT.....are you at a true 145+% or is it a tad lower....as in 45% lower like my actual # is compared to what they are reporting? LOL
I'm at 63-64% or thereabouts....not 104+%...but I'll take it....lol
