By Definition a gap is a break between prices on a chart that occurs when the price of a stock makes a sharp move up or down with no trading occurring in between.

If you want to interpret a spike in price as a "gap", then go ahead. I'm not gonna continue to debate with you over a technical term. So, moving on...
