I'm not saying you are wrong, but what you don't know (and neither do I) is just how systemic this problem is. There could be issues far more severe than just letting the guilty parties pay the price sooner rather than later.

I'm EXTREMELY negative on our financial system anyway. It's probably impossible to be anymore negative than I am --- and that was BEFORE this mess. Therefore, I'm of the opinion that if you let it run its NATURAL course, it could be curtains. In fact, I'm inclined to believe it would be.

And, as I've said before, it's easy to talk big about how they should all be this and that, but if the consequences of a financial meltdown are as I believe they will be, you don't want any part of that! Whatever the injustices and inconveniences of "managing" this situation, they pale in comparison to the alternative - assuming the alternative is as I think it might be.
