chunga1 -- an instance of the marketers pulling our strings, of consumerism become a pointless enslavement, of 'civilization' meaning senseless decadence and waste, taken to an absolutely insane extreme
thing is, this is hardly the only, or the most important, realm such a template currently fits -- going all the way to the realm of how people are conditioned how to 'think' about and thus/then 'see' 'reality', never mind actual reality to the contrary -- that kind of thing has always gone on, of course -- but never like now
the interesting current counter-current of course being the emergence of the widespread availablility via computer/communications networks of, among other things, vast amounts of information about actual reality
