While ice, wind and snow hampered travel across much of Iowa and caused the cancellation of many activities today, the Iowa Brown and Black Presidential Forum scheduled for 7 p.m. at North High School in Des Moines will be held as planned.
All eight Democratic presidential candidates plan to attend, organizers reported late this afternoon.
The event, open by invitation only, is an opportunity for the black and Latino communities to hear from candidates how they will address issues of concern to minorities.
The forum will be televised live nationally by HDNet, a high-definition television network. It will be simulcast in Iowa and surrounding states by cable company Mediacom's "Connections" channel. Sirius satellite radio also will carry it.
