Also keep in mind that AMD is figuring 8W difference per DIMM, which is pessimistic, and 16 DIMMs per server, which is unlikely for two socket servers.

At the same power envelope, Harpertown will probably out perform Barcelona by something in the 30% range. So the Intel power cost goes down by that amount.

Then figure the cost of those ~150 servers you don't buy, provision, support and license and see how many years you need to run them for the power to make a difference.
