Hey Bob,

Ameritrade seems to be different than other brokers. I happened to get a great fill last week at Ameritrade--the low of the day. I'm not sure how because my Scottrade and IB accounts were nowhere near that.

Anyway, what I have discovered thru several discussions with IB and what I will do in the future is:

1. Always use a limit (if you use a market, it will wait until Amex starts trading, whcih may be minutes after 9:30).
2. Allow the trade to be placed outside regular business hours (even if you trade during business hours). If you set it up so that you can only trade during regular business hours, it will wait until Amex trades.
3. Either trade live just after the open (best) or set the 'good after time' to 9:30est.

I'm not sure that will help, but I have had my pricing problems as well. As Sam said, mdy is more liquid and probably doesn't have that issue.
