I also saw the ads this weekend and chuckled at how much it unabashedly attempts to mimic the iPhone. Will be interesting to see how it fares - if iPod history is any bell weather, it will simply create more demand for the real thing and missing features will be highlighted and excused with less useful features.

I wouldnt be nearly so quick to dismiss LG. The handset might not be quite as nice as an iPhone, but one thing it does have is a substantially better network than AT&T. That can make up for a lot of perceived shortcomings in the handset itself.

I would also add that LG is doing very well with their iPhone competitor (HSDPA, touch screen, 5 megapixel camera) in Europe right now. They sold out of their first 200,000 units in less than 3 weeks.
