Golfer from Bill Cara blog

This is too ironic...

1.I am a fellow Canadian.

2. Just picked this thread to get in touch with you and haven't I experienced the same problem as this person BUT not just from Stockcharts...BigCharts and even from Bill's daily and/or Weekly reports and other sites.

Since I have limited computer tech knowledge and/or skills I can only tell you what was going on when it happened frequently and how is was resolved.

When it was happening frequently I was having problems with my connecting to sites. It started with slow, then slower etc connections to different sites...waiting for it to find the site...transfer page info(whatever) not downloading files just trying to get into a site. My IPS guy said that it was not the problem of my computer but with their equipment and they worked on it. During that period when I did get to my site , say Bill's and tried to get the WEEKLY Report with all its charts etc it would be downloaded SLOWLY not because of Bill's end but some problem with my ISP...now I would get some charts in full, some I would get 1/2 of and some nothing and some the red x...after some time I could right click the red x and click SHOW PICTURE and voila the chart would appear. Thus, from I can garner there was a TIMER ISSUE. i.e. if something takes too long to download the sender's download stops to make sure their system can be used by others. I had a very similar issue when I was on dial-up. I would try to gat a daily report from TDWATERHOUSE and very often it would be downloading for about 2 mins then stop and couldn't get it. Took a while with TD tech to find out that because it was a protected/encrpyted site they had a safety feature built in to protect site from hackers etc. Again the problem was a TIMING issue relative to the ISP.

I have just had the most recent problems settled within the last week and again it turned out to be equipment problems with my ISP.

My new ISP is with a guy who just started up and I have in a way been acting as his canary in the coalmine. It should be noted that since my new ISP is not a major his ability to transfer data with the equipment he has is limited so he will continue to upgrade as his subscription base grows.

I know this is lenghty but I happened to read the fellow's post that you are referring to as my first attempt to see what this forum is like and it is obvious he feels like he is getting the run around and maybe my experience will help him get to the root of his problem.
