From my knowledge of facebook people rarely if ever visit the apps page. That 11% you speak of is really not important at all. iLike i guarantee you has been spread because people see it on someone elses page and click the add button on it. That is how apps are spread. The apps about friends and stuff. People do not seek that kind of stuff out. The only two ways of spreading are A. Seeing it on your friends page or B. Having an invite from a friend either through the invite function or a message.

besides there are 400 some music apps alone. if we expect people to find hypster in the page of apps this will not be a success

I have started playing around with Hypster and it is really cool the way you can search a song. Find it and instantly listen to it on your player. If people understand they can search and instantly hear a song it will be a success. It will take a little time for the general public to realize its potential. I do not think the interface of this will hurt that much at all.

People want what they dont have and other people do, so if we can get their friends to add it by getting a solid base of 150000 users or so in the first week or two that will be an example for others from which to grow.

It never hurts to be aesthically pleasing but this app is all about functionality and sharing music with your friends. Napster when it came out or other p2ps are not very "cool" looking. If it is useful and i believe it is then people will flock to it.
