The only place they are going for marketshare is in your imagination. Intel supply 77% of the market with 2 FABs and AMD supply 23% with just 1, who has gone for marketshare ? They are just filling their FAB and when they don't, as in Q1, they suffer bigger losses at higher prices. The prices of AMD's products is determined by their competitiveness in the marketplace and is not something AMD's management can control while they don't have the top performing products. For you to suggest AMD to keep their prices uncompetitively high would lead to truly staggering losses, marketshare collapse to well under 10% and bankruptcy within a year. Only Intel has control of the whole x86 pricing stack at the moment. Stop talking such uneconomic nonsense if you can't show me one at least example in the whole of x86 mpu history where this has worked.
