OT re: Mt. Olympus, etc.

There's no way the United States will ever ratify the Kyoto protocol. First because the current U.S. leadership is far too frigtarded to take a positive stance on environmental issues, and second because the Kyoto protocol is far too toothless to actually make much of a difference.

Actually, given the choice of either ratifying the Kyoto protocol or doing something more substantive, perhaps ratifying the Kyoto protocol will indeed be the choice of our environmentally frigtarded federal leadership. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

California is a whole 'nother story, of course. But do not conflate relatively progressive initiatives in California ( http://gov.ca.gov/index.php?/press-release/4111/ ) with federal choices that might have been helpful during less informed times a decade ago, but now are just dated. And definitely do not expect the United States to follow California's lead on any environmental issue unless forced to do so. At least not 'til we chase the worst of the frigtards from office next November.

Oh yeah, re Mt. Olympus:
