I am sure he was a good Tech Guy...but if he spec ed the IT systems I might question his abilities. Then again...I don't know the budget he was given.
That ordering software has to communicate with the stores and financial entities somehow. Likely a database and local server as well. I bet none of it was High Availability...lol well we know that since there was no redundant power.
How exactly do you run a call center without redundant power? They had millions...to run way more than the IT and call center equipment, HVAC and some lights than they had I would be very surprised if it was more than $250K for UPS and natural gas generator installed with intelligent auto switching.
Anyway the CC was premature. Get 200 shops and some revenue and then roll a pilot. Call me crazy... :)
