No chantix is a prescription pill which does not put nicotine in your system. It works on the same receptives that nicotine does. There are four packets in each prescription. you continue to smoke during packet 1 and then with the following packets you begin reducing you ciggarette consumption until you stop. It took me 3 1/2 weeks to get off the pack a day kick. My wife used the patch and that worked for her. But not for me.....
