It's easy to go to a board and post positively and make tons of friends instantly even if you just post something stupid like "i like astn." All the promoters and longs in love will be very nice to you and say things like "great post! Thanks! welcome aboard!"...

If you go to a board and copy/paste an honest negative public news item, watch out. People will be calling you every name in the book, threatening to kill you, posting your home address, spamming your email boxes... I think it takes a lot more guts to post the negatives than the positives by far. Most people who post a negative get bashed off the boards with the attacks. You really have to be sure of your posts and yourself in order to stay and take the abuse.
