If I were the crane op and some guy wanted me to do something obviously or questionably wrong, I wouldn't have taken his word for it, I would have had him sign a waiver of responsibility to assure that 'ol Joe couldn't come back and blame me.... Unless there were enough witnesses to the stupid decision, a he said, she said, would probably go against the crane op.... it is their business to do it right...

again, jmo... I'm surprised he agreed to do it that way unless he was a substitute or on drugs....

either way, damage done and time/funds unnecessarily spent..
