Is there any way to modify the Integrity to make it more airworthy without adding engines or making major design changes? Are there any companies working on the type of next generation small commuter plane like you described? I assume if there are it would cost quite a bit to take from design to production and that only a major aircraft mfg or one that had a considerable amount of assets could achieve.

I heard of one company in New Zealand working on a wave skimmer type of puddle jumper that uses a cushion of air the way a hovercraft does to fly 15 ft above the water and is very fuel efficient. It is capable of normal flight if the conditions are not optimal for the hovercraft type of operation. Like these guys they are looking for funding. Perhaps this company will morph into the hovercraft airplane.
