Regarding NEOM's patents, in accordance with the International Patent Protection Agreement, there are 120 countries world wide who actively participate. I suspect that NEOM has been involved in getting their patents covered in this treaty due to the fact NEOM was the first to obtain patents for this technology starting from the late 80's to the present; specifically 1995 was a big one for NEOM.
