“US Global Aerospace is also integrating the Nanosil™ super hydrophobic treatment process into G-Lam production to create surfaces that are expected to repel water completely. The Nanosil process modifies the chemical structure of the polymer surface on a nanoscale level by incorporating silicon atoms into the molecular structure at key points to change the electrical nature of the polymer material. Research in this area is focused on developing an icing-proof aircraft wing surface material.”
