Newly2b, The system we have is an AquaStar by Bosch. It was more expensive than the normal systems because it allowed for the input from the solar system. Prewarmed (solar) water comes into the system but it is further heated by natural gas.

Caution: A tankless system doesn't work well if you have a lot of people in the house. The outflow stream is limited. For instance you couldn't have two showers running and the laundry operating at the same time.

A system w/o solar input is about $5-600.
