You're certainly welcome to your opinion Dave, but I don't believe that position or justification can be sold to the percentage who disagree. Time will tell, as the battle lines have already been drawn.

The US tax code is a giant kludge that needs to be scrapped for a national sales tax, anyway. Then, when the "haves" buy a yacht, a Rolls, outrageously expensive ugly artwork, etc., they will pay the appropriate taxes - and not be able to hide it as a corporate tax or personal business deduction, etc.

We're still paying excise taxes on tires that was added for WWII, the current system is hosed. It's kind of like cigarette taxes, which should be payed once when the tobacco leave the farm. That would take the Mafia and bogus counterfeit cigarette label switchers out of the picture - and put that money back in the general till.
