Stewart fell one position to sixth in the standings.

Tony Stewart has driven Kevin Harvick's Busch Series cars in the past.

But after the way the two tangled with each other Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway, that may not be the case in the near future.

Stewart and Harvick made contact early in the race, an incident that set off some wild hand gesturing on the track and a war of words over their respective radios.

"He's not the only guy out here," Harvick said after the two nearly touched racing off Turn 4.

He then waved furiously out the window at Stewart.

Stewart's reply was a little more off color than Harvick's before the two finally settled down for the rest of the day.

Harvick went on to finish tenth Sunday, his 100th career top 10 NEXTEL Cup run.

The daytona 500 winner credited his crew for adjusting an ill- handling car all day.

"Our pit stops were awesome today," Harvick said. "We finished in the top 10 because of the pit stops and great calls by (crew chief) Todd (Berrier). Our Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet wasn’t great today. We just couldn’t find the right balance. It was either way too tight or way too loose."

Stewart's day was an adventure as well with a car that also wouldn't handle.

The two-time champion also was involved in a multi-car accident on lap 218, luckily just spinning and avoiding any damage.

He was able to rebound from that and drive home 11th.

"It was a weird race," said Stewart. "The car was tight. It was loose. Whatever it was doing was unpredictable. It was doing so many things in so many weird parts of the racetrack that it was a handful."

Stewart and Harvick didn't confront each other publicly afterward but the high emotions will be something to watch as the week unfolds.

And it will be interesting to see whateher Stewart finds himself a new part-time Busch ride in the future.
