With Haynes' September presentation in Seattle on the immunomodulatory effects of PS-exposing apoptotic debris accumulating fast in early HIV infection, and dampening the immune system's fight against the virus, this review by Richard Kornbluth becomes very relevant.
This was written back when it was still thought that apoptotic cells and their microparticles were immunologically neutral. They're not. Kornbluth was right.
