I find it highly unlikely that Intel is converting two architectures to support AMD64, so that ought to leave Centrino & co. out. The Reg article linked to in previous messages says that Chandresekar (Intel Mobile) says that ia-32e WILL be pushed into mobiles.

So the power-hungry and hot Prescott64 will be competing with the low-power and cool but 32-bit-only Centrino.

Both will be competing with low-power AMD64s that will likely outperform either Intel chip. (I'm expecting 25-30% power reduction when AMD transitions to 90nm SOI.)

I tell you, I wouldn't want to be the one having to make the decisions at Intel right now.
