Smallpops, that was a personal attack, and I don't deserve it.

I said the following:

"All the major databases have been ported to IPF (Oracle, SQL, DB2, SyBase, and others). How many have been ported to IA32E?"

in response to the statement that Itanium has less database software support than AMD/Intel's 64-bit extension. It doesn't matter what it's called or when Intel will support it, at least not in the context of my comparison.

My point is that IPF does have the support of the major databases, while AMD64/IA32E/x86-64 does not. Not only was the statement that IPF has no software support erroneous, actually the opposite is true.

Now I'd like an apology for the "old tricks" comment.
