I can assure you that we have paper certificates for every stock that our customers own. Due to securities laws, we are required to. The reason that the time frame is four to six weeks, is because all certificates are held in street name. This means that the certificates are in E*TRADE's name for benefit of you. We must first convert the certificate out of street name through the transfer agent to send you a new certificate with your name alone on it.
