the mass of a storage tank is going to take up length, width, and height.
you mentioning a swimming pool. let's use that example. if you told me the pool was 500 square feet, that doesnt really illustrate much about it. how deep is it? how many gallons of water can fill the pool? there are additional and more useful units of measurement.
simply saying the building was x square feet wouldnt really illustrate how much stuff you can fit inside of it.
have you looked at the cover-all site? the titan series specifications are pretty clear.
