A friend had invited me to join in the discussion here, promising some intelligent discourse, but I'm afraid in the short time I've been here I've found scant evidence of that. These political boards always become dominated by one or two people -- invariably rabid liberal haters -- who have nothing better to do than post on bulletin boards all day, and who are dedicated to dragging all discussion down to their simplistic level. In the general population they are a small minority, and we don't see much of them in public because they are usually social misfits more at home alone on their pcs than actually interacting with real people in the flesh. On the internet they are high and mighty, however, tossing off their inane banter as if it were gardenias. You can tell exactly how witty they are -- not at all -- because they always end their posts with a lmao.
