What's the difference between a kimberlite, a lamproite and a lamprophyre? Which is better than the others? I don't know. However, here is a piece of text I found at

http://www.argylediamonds.com.au/operations/geology_fr.htm

When geologists discovered diamonds in the Kimberley region in the 1970's, they were expecting to find them in the traditional diamond-bearing ore, kimberlite. In fact, the diamonds in the Kimberley region were found in lamproite ore. This was unique to the diamond world and the AK1 deposit remains the world's only economically viable lamproite pipe.

I sure would like to have a knowledgeable geologist tell me in lay terms what we have found and how the three structures differ.
