Perhaps you should do some research on the "Ropes Gold Mine" in Michigan. It is full of gold and they closed it. They just found new rich veins, and still they closed it. Why would anyone sell all that gold for 180 million dollars? Why would anyone close a working mine with proven reserves, one that has been mined off and on for over one hundred years, one where new rich veins were found just before closing? They filled it in and built a suburb over top of it!
