Have you ever been treasure hunting?
Rusty and I went metal detecting on the boardering property to where Lafayette and his troops camped in 1777 in Bucks County. We got a ferrous hit. But, we thought hey, cannon ball, musket, whatever...Rusty began digging, I was cheering him on. I said it looks like a spike. He said they didnt have metal tent spikes back then. I said they used spikes in wagons didnt they? My mind twirled with the possibility of what we may be uncovering here. Filled with excitement, I called my sister and told her we may have something here. For a good 1/2 hour Rusty dug carefully around the object. Then, low and behold, it was a damn rabbit fence post from the 60's.
So, if Billy got excited and called Wilf before knowing what kind of coins were coming in...I am right there with him man.
Everything I post is just my humble opinion. Do your own DD.
