You need to understand the history of Russia.
They worked for the government. You won't find them in the newspaper. In 97 I think was the date, Russia had no more money to subsidize the mines. This was peoples livelyhood.
There's like over 2000 mines in Russia, it was a large part of their economy. No money no job. Gold's not bringing in what it is. So it wasn't an economic pheasability.
People start to suffer when they can't work. So the gov. said you guys can do it for youself. That takes capital.
So they started the mining industry expo to get foriegn backers for capital. That's us, and like like barrick,
kenross, rio tinto. It got their economy moving. People went back to wrok and life got better.
