Dr. Stoll doesn't seem like a quitter, and if he's all fired up about bringing in a new CMO, that probably doesn't bode well for the near term buyout scenario (and therefore the near term share price). If it looks like he's digging in for a long siege, then the "run Cortex into the ground" scenario becomes more likely.

Personally, I think Stoll wants to at least get the RD and AD PET results before seriously considering the buyout/merger route. That takes us into mid-2008 though, which unfortunately coincides with the cash running low again. He'd be better off getting buyout negotiations rolling now while Cortex still has a cash cushion.

The game is essentially over folks, at least one with a favorable ending and an independent Cortex. Laughren and the a-holes at Psychiatric saw to that. One way or another (firesale partnership or buyout), everything will get passed on to a larger pharma to sort out. With a buyout, at least you might get $2 or better for your shares.
