Ineed...dig into Vidalia's "energy obligations" with other providers.
I can't give you any links...but living only a few hours away... I have read of a new power plant nearing completion & contracts that have to be honored....etc.(in my local Town Talk paper). Try Natchez Democrat & Alexandria Town Talk.
Some say Vidalia backed out of the deal with USSE/SSTP...but they speculate on the reasons. There is "much more" to the story than just "backing out" from JR's plan.
It is speculation & theory only...on both sides.
Personally...I believe the mayor was sold...but the town board et al reminded him of signed obligations between their co-op and current energy providers.
This is my opinion only...as I don't have the time and am not inclined to search for all the print I've read on Vidalia's power problems.
Vidalia is the past...(and, by the way...the article in my local paper on the demo is the reason I got involved with USSE)...and my concern is for the present & future. The company FUBARs are history.
