It's not uncommon for an ignitor to burn out.

Get someone to turn the thermostat up while you are watching the ignitor.

If it doesn't start glowing, most likely it is burnt out.

You can disconnect the wires from it and do a continuity check and it should tell you if it is burnt out.

There is always a chance it could be the thermostat, but that is highly unlikely.
