I agree too!! Being a mod on a stock specific board can be one of the biggest thankless jobs around. Many people are VERY quick to throw the mods under the bus for simply doing their job. That is not to say that there aren't over zealous mods, there are, and I believe that those mods are dealt with appropriately by admin.
I can't tell you how many times I have seen posts that were perfectly acceptable and within the terms of the TOU but for whatever reason the author decided to take a parting shot at someone effectively negating the entire post. And then they cry foul. They wrote the post, not the moderator, and had they left out the pot shot taken at someone their post would have stayed on the board.
I read a lot of boards and I don't see any boards that have tons of posts being restored by admins. They DO review the posts contrary to what many believe.
IMO if everyone took an extra second or two and made sure that when they make a post they leave out "ALL" references to other posters on the board we would see far less deletions. It's real easy to say that the mod of a board that also owns shares of the stock, tailors the board to read a certain way but the last thing anyone that moderates a board wants to have happen is to get a warning from Matt or any of the other admins for removing posts improperly.
