Re: The Beatles Revolution
Wow, I go away for a weekend and this board explodes with posts. Well, maybe not explodes, but it sure did pop and fizz.
Anyhow, I've elected to start with this benevolent topic.
I saw this special, too. I actually get teary-eyed when watching Beatles' specials. This one in particular did a very good job of showing not only their incredible artistic talents, but how they affected not just our generation, but generations to come and the entire world.
The first-ever, world-wide TV cast was their "All You Need Is Love" special, which had the largest TV viewership in the history of television. And what an absolutely delightful message to put across for such a thing.
I also got a kick out of the postulating that the Beatles had alot to do with bringing down the Berlin wall. I'd much rather support that theory than that it was Reagan's doing, but you all knew that and I'd end up switching to a less desirable subject. <G>
My heart was broken the day John Lennon was shot.
Now back to the I..I..Me..Me..Mine of it all, also known as my stocks stink right now...screw democracy just get it over with so my stocks will go up. <G>
