D-Link sees continuing shipment growth for 802.11n products in 4Q

Irene Chen, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Thursday 11 October 2007]

Shipments of 802.11n products will continue to drive revenues growth at D-Link in the fourth quarter of this year although some sources in the market are concerned about the fourth-quarter outlook for networking devices, according to sources at D-Link.

D-Link reported its September revenues gained 8.1% sequentially to top NT$3.32 billion (US$98.2 million) due in part to growing shipments of its 82.11n products and in part to continuing shipment growth in emerging markets, the sources noted.

Concerns about the fourth-quarter outlook, especially for the market in North America, arose after a number of network-equipment makers, including Gemtek Technology, Sercomm, CyberTAN Technology and Accton Technology, suffered sequential revenues declines in September, according to market sources and data from the companies.

For D-Link, the second quarter was probably the most difficult period in 2007 and so the worse is over, stated the D-Link sources, who also added that they expect D-Link revenues to grow more than 10% sequentially in the fourth quarter from the third-quarter's NT$9 billion.

Meanwhile, Alpha Networks, an affiliate of D-Link, also reported that its revenues were up 6.2% sequentially to reach NT$2.25 billion in September
