I saw this in the recent edition of Rosneft
Magazine "july - sept 2007" pg.23
at www.rosneft.com

Some good information on Rosneft's concern
about the enviornment.
One particular quote stood out.....let's hope it
is in reference to Strat

"In addition, we have acquired oil-gathering
technology for Sakhalinmorneft egaz and Stavropolneft
egaz at a cost of RUB 5.5 million and RUB 1.6 million,
respectively, and have signed a contract for a petroleum
sludge processing facility at Yuganskneft egaz. This facility
is now being installed and will soon be commissioned.
Other Rosneft subsidiaries have also been very busy...

and from pg 42 of the same magazine:

"In recent years, the Kuibyshev Refinery has paid
increased attention to reducing the negative effects it
has on the environment. “Not only do we try to avoid
accidents and to reduce the number of toxic emissions,
which lead to large fines, but we also aim to restore the
environmental balance that has been disrupted in the
62 years since the refinery was commissioned,” says Alexander
Karpyak. “Last year, we commissioned a unit
to process oil sludge, which in a few years will make it
possible to process the waste products that have accumulated
over decades and to avoid their accumulation
in the future.”
