LOS ANGELES , Oct. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Canam Energy Inc. (Pink Sheets: CNGJ), "The Company," is pleased to announce that it has initiated a land-sat work program to investigate potential hot spots on its Grand Calumet Uranium property in Quebec . The work program will include digital mapping and terrain modeling, photogram metrics, compilation, orthophoto production and stereo ASTER imagery.
The property is comprised of 24 claims, approximately 3000 acres, in the Grand Calumet Township. The claims are strategically located adjacent to and approximately one quarter of a mile from a property that has a potential ore body with a minimum conceptualization valuing it in the multi billion dollar range.
An extensive exploration program for the companies holdings including geological and radio-metric surveying and ultimately drilling is planned for the 2007-2008 season.
The company is confident that Quebec represents a promising opportunity for uranium exploration and is a valuable asset to add to its property portfolio. The properties are located in a prolific area with many operational camps and an operating uranium mine in the immediate vicinity. The increased commodity price for uranium coupled with the growing global demand also fits with the company's strategy of mobility and diversification.
