Not that I actually have a clue, but I think what you saw posted on the blog yesterday was not a "lame excuse" for the recent trading activity, but rather an possible explanation from a technical geek based on NASDAQ post regarding settlement dates. To the unschooled in trading, the two issues might appear to be related, but as we know the volume discussion only has bearing on the settlement dates in that trades are normally settled T-3 but the bank holiday on Monday would impact that. My sense is not that Ian intended to mislead, but rather that he did not understand the comments in the NASD statement regarding the trade volumes for Friday and Monday being combined to determine the settlement date, and related them instead to the volume showing for Monday being inclusive of Friday's volume. Just my take.

Anyway, something is definitely going on with the tremendous share volume and it would be nice if some pertinent info was forthcoming if the company truly knows, has a hand in, or understands what is going on with the volume.
