Not to be gloomy, but a crash may be in the works...you know that, eh?
Was similar in 1929. A big run up in the summer before the crash.
I once spent a fair amount of time studying the timetable of 1928/1929, and the buildup to the las weeks of October which we now call the crash (not one day event, actually but a series of slides). I wanted to know if there were signs that once could identify ahead of time, in order to stay safe.
Turns out that the same way that there are predictable cycles in rise and falls of empires, in the seasons of political revolutions throughout history, similarly stock market booms and busts are mapable for those who enjoy that kind of thing.
Now that I see how clear the signs are, I don't think that those who pulled their money out in the summer of 1929 were such geniuses. They were merely awake.
But there are such nice surges along the way to Black Friday, why not enjoy the short rides?
